Charley Horse

A charley horse, also called simply a leg cramp, is due to a painful contraction of one of the leg muscles (usually the thigh or calf muscles). A charley horse can be quite painful, and may cause concern that there is an underlying problem. However, most charley horses will simply resolve without treatment, but there are some ways to avoid developing these painful cramps. Read on for more information....

What about in the actual hip? I got an extreme Charley Horse in my hip. Could it have radiated up from my thigh? I will be talking to a doctor about this after the weekend is over, just thought I would ask about getting them in the actual hip area.
