Dairy Products and Childhood Obesity

With concerns about childhood obesity, many parents are now opting to place their children on diets. While the motivation is often in the right place--American children are too often too heavy--the method of weight control in children can be a problem.
Growing children need nutrients, and this includes dairy products. Some parents may be restricting dairy to control weight, but a new study shows that the opposite is true. Youngsters who do not have an adequate intake of dairy products are more likely to be obese.
