de Quervain's Wrist Tendonitis

Saturday July 24, 2004
de Quervain's tendonitis is an inflammation of the tendons in the first extensor compartment of the wrist. These tendons lie on the thumb-side of the wrist joint. de Quervain's disease occurs when there is inflammation of these tendons and pain with pressure or activity. This problem is known well to many new mothers, because these are the tendons used in the motion of picking up a child.
