Joint Supplements and Surgery

Are you taking glucosamine or chondroitin? What about other supplements or herbal remedies? While these supplements are felt to be safe, exactly how these supplements interact with anesthesia is not well know. The American Society of Anesthesiologists recommends that you should stop taking any supplements or herbal remedies 2-3 weeks before surgery, unless told otherwise by your doctor.
