Knee Sprain

It is not uncommon for an athlete to sustain an injury that is often called in media reports a "knee sprain." Unfortunately, saying a patient has he knee sprain says very little about the injury. A knee sprain usually means that one or more of the four major ligaments in the knee has been injured. The problem is that the treatment and prognosis is very different depending on which ligament was injured.
