Tennis Elbow Pain

Monday June 18, 2007
The most common cause of elbow pain is called tennis elbow. Many people think this means it is an injury that occurs just in tennis players. While it is common for tennis players to experience this problem, it is much more commonly seen in patients who are not avid tennis players.

Tennis elbow causes a sharp pain over the outside of the elbow--this is often worsened with activities such as lifing briefcases or grocery bags. Most often, the symptoms of tennis elbow will improve with some simple treatments. In those few patients who don't get better after a long try of conservative treatment, surgery may be considered.
