Pro Athletes Have More Infections After Knee Surgery

ACL tears are common injuries among athletes, professional athletes being no exception.  We often hear about these injuries, and the athlete's quest to return to playing their sport.  Many non-professionals seek out the same treatments and same surgeons to get the same high level care.

But do professional athletes fare better?  When it comes to ACL surgery, it looks like professional athletes actually have a higher chance of developing an infection after surgery.  This particular complication is uncommon, but serious when it does occur.
