  • Rest
  • Ice
  • Compression
  • Elevate
Acute injuries should be evaluated by a medical professional before beginning any treatment.

Chronic Injuries

In contrast, a chronic injury is the result of overuse or a long-standing condition. Chronic injuries seen in orthopedics include:
