How I Tore My ACL

I was play a softball game when I slid into third base wrong.I dislocated my knee.(I didn't know it at the time) And when I was trying to sit back up it popped back into place and I had to be carried of the field cause I couldn't stand. We went to the ER and had X-rays done and they said nothing was broken I just probably sprained my ACL and I'll be fine in a couple of days. But about two months later it was still giving my problems and he orthopedic doctor said I was getting an MRI! Two weeks later we got the results and my ACL was completely torn, my MCL was partially torn, and my meniscus was torn! No wonder I was in pain!

What Happened?

No I didn't know it was torn, the ER doctor just told me that it was sprained because they didn't want to use the MRI machine in case there was a real emergency. It was about two months when my doctor told me to go to he orthopedics and get an MRI. Two weeks later I got the results. My ACL, MCL, and my meniscus were torn.

Lessons Learned

  • I probably could have slid down on my stomach so my foot wouldn't have caught the base wrong. And now I wouldn't be limping around school awaiting my knee surgery.
