What Made You Decide to Have Knee Replacement?
Severe knee pain and the fact that I was told that I had the knee of an 80 year old (I am in my 40's!) due to arthritis.
What Were You Not Prepared For?
For my knee to CLICK constantly - it drives me absolutely crazy. Also, I am still in pain over a year later, so I am not sure if something is wrong. I also insisted on giving my own blood before surgery (my doctor told me I didn't need to) and then I needed two blood transfusions.
Lessons Learned
- That is was going to click constantly - when I told my doctor about it afterward, and I wanted to know why no one told me that this was a possibility, he said "you didn't ask!" So, really, you have to be prepared to ask questions that you don't even know exist - they don't tell me what to expect!
