What Made You Decide to Have Knee Replacement?

I was in a great deal of pain especially in my back and hips.

What Were You Not Prepared For?

I had both knees replaced two months apart. I was surprised that each surgery was very different. The first knee which was the worst had a lot less bruising. I was not prepared for the bruising with the 2nd knee. I was surprised at how quickly the first knee supported the 2nd knee after surgery.

Lessons Learned

  • I had done quite a bit of research before my surgeries so I was pretty much prepared. Folks ask if the surgery was what I expected. I'm not sure even with all the research that you know or understand what to expect. I wish I had done the surgeries about two years earlier. Things have worked out very well.
