What Made You Decide to Have Knee Replacement?

Severe never ending pain. Unable to climb stairs and complete normal everyday task.

What Were You Not Prepared For?

The awful pain after surgery.I developed a condition called RSD in my knee.I have had three manipulations that have caused the RSD to worsen after each time. I had the surgery on Sept.15th ,2009 and I am no closer to regaining my strength in my leg than I was after the first month. I am so depressed and mad at myself for having this surgery. I am so thankful that I did not have both knees done at the same time. My doctor is great and so are my PT doctors but I just wish I had not had this surgery.

Lessons Learned

  • Always ask what can happen. What are all the risk? I really wish I had read everything available prior to surgery not afterward like I am doing now to try to find help with my condition.
