What Made You Decide to Have Knee Replacement?
I was tired of the pain I experienced walking up and down stairs. I also did not want to get cortisone shots too often. They didn't last long.
What Were You Not Prepared For?
I didn't realize I had to exercise my knee that often each day. I had too many things that needed to be done and didn't have adequate help around the house. So I was too busy doing chores instead of focusing more on the knee exercises. Also I was unable to go to therapy three times a week due to their schedule. I could have been more aggressive. I feared the pain.
- I will focus on myself totally and not try to take care of everybody and everything else while I'm recuperating.
