What Made You Decide to Have Knee Replacement?

I decided to have knee replacement because of the pain I had when walking, going up stairs, and exercising.

What Were You Not Prepared For?

When I had my right knee done, everything proceeded as expected. A year later I had the surgery done on my left knee and things did not go as well as expected. I was in rehab for three weeks, instead of two, I was not using the walker when I left rehab had to leave rehab in a wheel chair (last time I was nearly walking without any mobility device). I only had 3 sessions of physical therapy last time. This time I had the surgery on Sept 21 and am still receiving physical therapy in December. What happened was that the scar tissue was not stretched enough, thus I cannot get around without a walker because the scar tissue makes my leg stiff and very heavy.

Lessons Learned

  • To do all my exercises daily and massage the area where the scar tissue is forming.
